Mike Stella is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Performance Coach, Impassioned Educator, and Athletic Training Entrepreneur who currently owns and operates The Movement Underground in Farmingdale, NY. A trailblazer in the field of Athletic Training, Mike has paved the way for many ATs to start their own clinic businesses, and in doing so, has fundamentally challenged traditional roles in the profession.
At the Movement Underground, Mike consults athletes from MLB, MiLB, NBA, NFL, PLL, UFC, as well as elite collegiate and High School Athletes, utilizing an integrated, holistic approach of manual therapies, corrective exercise, performance training, and Education.
Mike has served as an Athletic Trainer for a number of division 1 athletics programs, including the University of Florida, George Washington University, and Long Island University.
Mike is a Marist College Graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. He also holds a Masters Degree in Sports Management from George Washington University. While at Marist, Mike played D1 Lacrosse helping the Red Foxes earn a MAAC Championship in 2005 and the programs first ever NCAA Championship Tournament Berth.
In his free time, you can find mike surfing his local break in long beach, NY, or on the ocean in his kayak fishing for 50 lb striped bass. When he isn’t working with athletes, or out on the water, you can find Mike taking selfie’s with his English Bulldog, MeatLoaf.
